National Association of Prospective Student Advisers

The Queensland Chapter of the National Association of Prospective Student Advisers (QNAPSA) was formed in 1999 to support the activities of its members throughout the state and northern New South Wales. Members have drawn up a code of practice covering the organisation and staging of careers events throughout Queensland to ensure equitable access for all prospective students, to promote the benefits of higher education and to ensure that all institutions address health and safety issues adequately with staff in the field.

The association provides a forum for members to meet representatives from other institutions, to discuss concerns about career events and working conditions, and to access professional development opportunities.

Each year, QNAPSA collates and distributes a concise wall calendar for school contacts to access details about upcoming regional careers markets and member open days.  The wall calendar is available in February each year.

Benefits of becoming a QNAPSA member include:

  • access to the Queensland regional career markets schedule;
  • promotional opportunities on the yearly QNAPSA wall calendar which is delivered to all guidance officers and student advisers throughout Queensland and northern NSW, listing all member institution key event dates and regional career market dates;
  • networking activities;
  • opportunities for professional development.

QNAPSA has huge potential to make the lives of prospective student advisers working in Queensland and northern New South Wales easier and to raise the profile of our industry. We welcome all new members to assist in increasing the profile of the association and have their input into planning for its future growth.

Should you require further clarification on the benefits and advantages of QNAPSA membership, please feel free to contact any of the QNAPSA Executive members.

QNAPSA Professional Development

QNAPSA provides all financial members and interested non-members with professional development opportunities.

The development days generally include presentations focusing on the changes we face as advisers of prospective tertiary students, both locally and nationally. It will also provide members with access to some valuable information and tools to assist them in connecting and engaging with prospective students, as well as an opportunity to network and exchange ideas with other student recruitment professionals.

Details of the 2019 event are to be advised. For details, contact Sebastion Marx.
