Tasmania Tertiary Environment
Tasmania’s student community is as close‑knit and distinctive as the island itself. With the University of Tasmania’s campuses spread across Hobart, Launceston, Burnie and Sydney, students experience a balance of high‑quality education, strong campus culture and an enviable lifestyle. Smaller class sizes and accessible staff help foster genuine connections, while student organisations play an active role in shaping university life and advocating on issues that matter.
Living and studying in Tasmania means being surrounded by world‑class natural environments, vibrant arts and food scenes, and communities that genuinely welcome students. Whether you’re engaging in student politics, volunteering, or heading outdoors between classes, Tasmanian students enjoy a unique blend of opportunity, affordability and belonging that sets their university experience apart.
There are a number of careers expos, with the majority run in individual schools other than:
- Catholic Education Tasmanian Careers Expo – Hobart (May)
- Co-op Schools Careers Expo – Launceston (May)
Due to the University of Tasmania being the only university on the island, Tertiary Information Services also travels to Tasmania each year to run expo-style events across Burnie, Devonport, Launceston and Hobart each May.
